Mayoral Candidate Kimberly F. Brown "Struck Out" No Parade for You!
Mayoral Candidate Kimberly F. Brown was informed on Thursday July 2, 2009 by Victoria Dennis - Community Organizer of the Buckeye Area Center that the Brown Team could not participate in the Buckeye Soul Parade due to reasons unknown. After Brown contacted Dennis several times and received no response, Dennis finally informed Brown that she would receive an application via email. Because Brown did not receive an email from Dennis as promised, Brown called Dennis and inquired of a time frame and was told by her that the Mayor's Office had not given Brown permission to participate in this neighborhood parade. Prior to the end of the day, Brown met with Dennis at the Development Center and was told by Dennis that the Mayor's Office had not yet responded to the request. Brown asked Dennis for an application in the event that the request was approved of which Dennis simply refused. Although the Brown Team was not given permission to participate in this public community celebration, Brown and her team will be present to speak with attendees about her Mayoral Run for this City.
"The Buckeye Area Development Center's annual parade as well as others is known for county and city wide candidates parade involvement stated Brown. "This is the first time I have ever heard of candidates being denied participation". After speaking with other candidates, Brown found out that Kesha Parks - Candidate of Ward 4 had also been "Struck Down".
Area Banners hung on Buckeye makes reference Metro Health, Com Pro Tax and Gillombardo as sponsors of the event. The City of Cleveland, Mayor's Office is not mentioned nor advertised.
In 2005, Brown's Team participated in the parade during the Campbell Administration without any problems.
Brown Confronts M&M Management Company
Living conditions found to be deplorable at a west side housing estate funded by HUD in the City of Cleveland. After residents demanded a meeting with Mayoral Candidate Brown, Brown toured the estate. Residents complained of lack of to no running water, weak floors and stair case, water dripping ceilings, bug infestation, mice, mold and mildew. Brown was amazed and sadden by these living conditions. Following, Brown spoke with M&M Management Company and was informed that renovations would occur late end summer. Brown will frequent this housing project and monitor "action as informed". Photos are available for review conditions found to be deplorable at a west side housing estate funded by HUD located in Donna Brady's Ward. Brown Talks of Relationship with Candidate Bill Patmon
Here's the scoop. There is nothing to tell.
Television station 19/43 recently questioned the relationship of Brown and Mayoral Candidate Bill Patmon. According to Brown, she met Patmon in 2005 at a Mayoral Forum. Brown at that time was also seeking to run for Mayor but she was not successful making the ballot. As the Mayoral race ran its course, Brown joined Patmon's street team and was immediately offered the job of Campaign Manager. "During this time in my life, I was excited to work with a man such as Patmon who had done many things in this city and for the city. Working with Patmon was an eye opener, but more of an opportunity to learn many avenues of Cleveland's Politics." "I wanted to run for Mayor in 2005 before I met Patmon and I cast my hat in the ring - this year prior to Patmon." He's a politician and I am not", stated Brown.

Where are the Mayoral Forums?
At one time mayoral forums use to be a prominent tool within the election process. Forums allow everyday citizens and stakeholders to attend community meetings to get to know candidates running for public office. More so, voters are able to be educated on issues, needs and circumstances encompassing their communities. For whatever reason, these forums are not prevalent in Cuyahoga County especially within the City of Cleveland. Since the certification of five mayoral candidate on June 25, 2009, not one organization or news media has opened their eyes to a Mayoral Forum. The primary race is slated for September 8, 2009 and citizens of the City of Cleveland are being openly ignored. Many residents of this city fail to even notice that this is an election year. This is a vital time in our community where great changes can occur in our region just by being involved in the election process. It appears that the mass media of which report the news is hindering city residents, businesses and stakeholders by not weighing in on "Where are the Mayoral Forums", or is this a sure tell sign that the Jackson Administration has a lock down not only on community organizations but the media as well.
Mayoral Candidates Kimberly F. Brown and Laverne Jones-Gores Make History while Media Sleep
Mayoral Candidates Brown and Gore made Cleveland history on June 25, 2009. Both Brown and Gore are African American Women who made the ballot as certified mayoral candidates. Since the beginning of Cleveland's Politics, no other African American Women have made the mayoral ballot the same election year. "This is an exciting election year, the city appears to be stuck and I am pleased to see another woman of color openly strive to take part in the process of change within our city. I welcome the process of democracy" stated Brown.
Brown Reveals Content of Unidentified Letter
On Thursday July 23, 2009 - Mayoral Candidate Brown revealed contents of an unidentified letter mailed to her home. Brown held a community meeting at her campaign office informing residents about the letter as well as allowing all in attendance to view the letter at their request. "Residents have a right to know what's going on inside the Jackson Administration", I am not 100% sure if these allegations are true but if and when I get the opportunity, I will ask Mayor Jackson to publicly respond to this letter", stated Brown. The Brown Camp invited the media to this community meeting to review the unidentified letter and no one appeared to be interested nor available to attend.

Councilman Orders Neighborhood Store to Remove Brown's Campaign Sign from Window
On Tuesday, July 21, 2009 Cleveland Ohio, Mr. Lynn Thompson - Campaign Manager for Mayoral Candidate Kimberly F. Brown was given permission to post a campaign flyer in the window of a local neighborhood store located on E.131st and Lenacrave in Ward 3. This evening while canvassing the area, Mr. Thompson noticed that the sign had been removed from the front window of the store. Thompson inquired and was informed that the Councilman of Ward 3 had come into the store demanding that the sign be removed and so it was. "I was told that they were told to take the sign down - when I asked who - the owners would not tell me, but an employee stated that the Councilman of Ward 3 (who they mentioned by name) ordered the sign to be removed, stated Thompson. "I really hope that this Councilman is not trying to intimidate business owners in the community. We know exactly who he is....He should be concern with his race, not to mention his condition. This is silly - absolutely juvenile, we will continue to be aggressive in the streets. If opposition place stones in our path, we will find other creative means of getting our message to the public,"stated Brown.
Councilwoman Donna Brady of Ward 19,
"It's a Shame"
Sunday, August 2, 2009 Cleveland, Ohio. Mayoral Candidate Kimberly F. Brown visited west-siders as she canvassed various neighborhoods. Most residents of which Brown spoke with had a very open mind to a new agenda for city residents and businesses. Residents discussed the deplorable school conditions, failing businesses, unleashed dogs, deplorable street conditions and frequent speeders. Brown listened while residents vented. After 3 pleasant hours in Ward 20, Brown and her team gathered their information and prepared for a pleasant return home. While driving, Brown's team entered Ward 19, the home of Councilwoman Donna Brady and came upon a free concert at a public park within the City of Cleveland. So like any team campaigning, the Brown team decided to canvas one last stop prior to going home for the evening. As members of the Brown team circulated palm cards to concert goers, Councilwoman Brady was said to have approached Brown's security guard asking him to not distribute campaign literature at this event of which he complied. Although Brady saw Brown, she never spoke to Brown regarding her concern. While Brown was speaking to some childhood friends, Brown and friends witnessed 2 men aggressively approach and surround one of her male volunteer's (a 3rd man stood approximately 3 feet in distance with his hand on his side). Brown intervened and stood between her male volunteer and the other two men and asked if there was a problem. The men identified themselves as Cleveland Police Officers, but never showed a badge nor were they in uniform. They informed Brown that Brady had instructed them to approach this young man because he looked suspicious. The young man who is a dedicated volunteer for Brown remained calm throughout this incident and later expressed his disappointment with elected officials as well as the security officers. " Suspicious? I have no comments at this time, I still can't believe this incident happened today. Talk about abuse of power. Brady could have spoken to me if she was so concern about literature being disseminated at this event. This is simply foolish, someone could have been hurt", stated Brown.

According to Websters New World Pocket Dictionary - Democracy is a government in which the power is vested in all the people. Equality of rights for all mankind. Democracy allows you to have choices and the freedom to chose freely from any and all forms of intimidation.

August 2009, Cleveland, Ohio - On Monday August 10, 2009, all five mayoral candidates for the City of Cleveland was scheduled to meet with members of the Plain Dealer's editorial staff. Upon arrival Mayoral Candidate Kimberly F. Brown joined Laverne Jones -Gore in the Plain Dealer's lobby area. As 10:30am approached, Brown and Gore was escorted to a meeting room to meet several of the Editorial staff. As the meeting was commencing, Gore inquired of the where abouts of Mayor Jackson, Bill Patmon and Robert Kilo. Brown and Gore was informed that both Mayor Jackson and Patmon had been given an excused absent due to busy scheduling (and because they know Jackson and Patom) and that Kilo was scheduled to attend the meeting with the two women candidates of which he was a no show. Sounds a bit strange. The men got a pass, the women "showed up" and the Plain Dealer got grilled! "Ouch". I wonder if the Plain Dealer and Henry Gomez will report the outcome of this meeting, says Brown.
911 Call Goes Silent
August 2009, Cleveland Ohio - Tuesday, August 18, 2009 a Ward 1 resident was confronted at gun point. Two young men were walking home from the McDonald's restaurant on Lee Road. As they approached their driveway which is approximately five minutes from their home, a man pulled out a gun and demanded money from the the two young men. When the two young men refused, the men got into a struggle and the perpetrator ran off. The mother of one of the victims heard the argument, witnessed the struggle and immediately called 911. When the mother got no response, she called Mayoral Candidate Kimberly F. Brown who resides in Ward 1 and asked for assistance. Brown called and got no response. The following day, Brown took immediate action and followed up with Mayor Jackson and his staff while at the Harvard Community Center. As of today, this resident has had constant contact with the Cleveland Police and the Detective. "Excellence in customer service for all residents should be a top priority. No resident should have to wait 24 plus hours to hear from the police during a moment of crisis - someone could have been seriously injured even murdered. We must do better - serving our residents,"stated Brown. "

Reporter Henry Gomez of Plain Dealer Attacks Brown
Enters "Silly Season" of Politics
Cleveland, Ohio/September 3, 2009 - Henry Gomez of the Plain Dealer accused Mayoral Candidate Kimberly F. Brown of not residing in the City of Cleveland. Brown is originally from New York, New York. Brown's family moved to the City of Cleveland in the mid 60's and she grew up in the Buckeye and Harvard area(s). Brown graduated from Cleveland Public School System and was an exchange student in Paris-France. Brown has resided in Cleveland for over 40 years, and lived in Cleveland Heights for a brief 16 months. Brown has worked in Cleveland the majority of her life, held fundraisers for foster youth in the Cleveland area, served families and businesses in the City of Cleveland and mentor children in the City of Cleveland. Brown has received many accolades from businesses within the City of Cleveland. Brown is the only candidate who has constantly spoke of Clevelanders Finally First regardless of race, creed and color!
"It is a shame how a reporter such as Gomez would attempt to cast low blows to a candidate in order to stir up chaos, conflict and mass confusion. The city is already too divided due to sex, race and politics. This is the main reason as to why our city is a mess due to this kind of worthless media coverage. The Plain Dealer perpetuates this kind of mindless behavior. Why doesn't Gomez write about how he and the PD editorial staff gave Mayor Jackson, Bill Patmon and Robert Kilo a pass - when they excused them from the candidate's interview and yet both women candidates' were present and grilled the Plain Dealer's editorial staff. Now, that's news worth reporting. This issue of where I lived for a mere 16 months has no bearing on this election. I was and remain an active registered voter. Unlike others', I voted legally in the Presidential Election while residing in the Cleveland Heights area. I am still passionate about this city, I live here and I am a home owner. I did not purchase in Cleveland Heights, I invested in the City of Cleveland! I will not apologize for residing in Cleveland Heights for a brief time. Mr. Gomez was not honest in his reporting and clearly tried to mislead voters. His tactics are surely unethical as he is a deceptive reporter. I wonder where Henry Gomez grew up and what gives him the right to speak of Cleveland Politics when in fact he himself doesn't live in this city!
I believe this is what President Obama calls the "silly season of politics," stated Brown.

Former Mayoral Candidate Kimberly F. Brown Sets Federal Precedent
Victorious Win for Independent Contractors!
Know your Rights!
Ruling may increase businesses' exposure to discrimination suits
By Martin C. Daks
9/17/2009 A precedent-setting court ruling could increase businesses’ exposure to discrimination lawsuits, according to one expert.
The appeals court for the U.S. Third Circuit reached back more than a century to craft a decision that gave an independent contractor the right to sue Craftmatic Beds for employment discrimination under a federal Civil Rights Act.
The court’s jurisdiction includes New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
“Clearly, the court now recognizes racial discrimination as a cause of action for a lawsuit under the Civil Rights Act of 1866, so businesses could have more legal exposure as a result,” said John J. Peirano, a partner with the Morristown law firm McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter, LLP.

Supporters Question Brown About Mayoral Selection
Former Mayoral Candidate Brown is frequently being asked by voters who she will support in the upcoming Mayoral Election. Although Brown has not made a decision at this time, insiders have stated that she has been seen in the community with one of the mayoral candidate's. "Yes,this is true, I have met with an individual, but I have not decided whom I will support and or vote for in the November Election. My hope is all voters will study the vision of both candidates and make the most appropriate decision for their children. This race is not about the present, but the future of our region." Brown stated.
Brown is preparing to attend Graduate School in December 2009 and study management in public administration and public policy.

Mayor Frank Jackson fancies himself an education mayor, but he's not: Phillip Morris
By Phillip Morris - October 16, 2009
"Candor and straight talk are Jackson hallmarks" echos Phillips
Recently Mayor Jackson wrote a letter to the Cleveland Plain Dealer Editor and Publisher Terry Egger. "This letter keeps with that tradition, and it sheds light on why Cleveland’s is dangerously close to becoming a third-rate city on Jackson’s watch" said Morris
The problem is with Mayor Frank Jackson and his continued failure to think and act like a desperate mayor, trying to save a desperate city. He bears no resemblance to an education mayor trying to save a poorly educated city. We need a leader with "big ideas" stated Morris.
November 3rd is Election Day and here we are as voters making excuses as to why we will not go out and vote. If anything, we should vote because of the fate of our children. The Plain Dealer has constantly informed readers that this region is dying. The Plain Dealer has written that New Innovative Leadership is a MUST in order for the City of Cleveland to grow. In 2005, the Plain Dealer wrote continuously that Bill Patmon was and is the only qualified candidate in this race to move this city forward! In 2009, the Plain Dealer wrote, that Bill Patmon is what this city needs in this underexposed Mayoral Walk. Hey, I like Mr. Frank Jackson as a person, but we need a Mayor with vision, creative thoughts, innovative leadership, the ability to understand the concept of "how to get things done" and compassion for the entire region not just the selected few!
As Phillip Morris of the Plain Dealer has stated "we need a leader with BIG IDEAS"!
It is Time for a Change!
My next concern: "Where are the Mayoral Forums/Debates?" How is this possible to go into a General Election without any community mayoral forums? We believe that electors have a right to know the platform of all candidates! As we have asked before, is this a sure tell sign that Mayor Jackson has a lock down on the entire community and the media as well..... (www.kimberlyfbrown4mayor.com) Eweb News Brief
This note and several excerpts was taken from the Plain Dealer Newspaper column by Phillip Morris - 10/16/2009
Subject: Plain Dealer's Endorsemsnt - Letter sent to the editor on 10/18/09
Clevelanders' Finally First "Imagine That" Can You Imagine? I Can. But not anytime soon.
The Plain Dealer endorsement of Frank Jackson is a farce. I like Mr. Jackson but not as the Chief of our city. The PD has painted Jackson as a hide and seek mayor who lacks luster and vision for the entire region.
The PD also acknowledge that under Jackson's administration and leadership, crime has risen, neighborhoods are unsafe, corruption runs rampant and our schools are drastically failing. A City Hall reform is a must! Yet, the same media who informed the community of abnormal behaviors and unethical politics and tricks not to mention Jackson's stoic, non caring attitude towards a city in turmoil is the same newspaper that grants Jackson an endorsement.
One thing is for sure, the City of Cleveland will continue to fail as long as electors and stakeholders maintain and make excuses for the same political watch dogs misleading our community.
I hope the first order of business for 2010 at City Hall is to support the development of a newly exist daily competitive newspaper - one that is objective, fair and weighs goodness for the entire region!
